The Ins and Outs of Ride-Share Conventional Services: What You Need to Know

When it comes to Medical Transportation services, you must pay close attention to the level of services you are requesting. It has come to our attention, that some of ride-share personnel is limited to their training in Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. Just remember a ride-share driver is not a NEMT(Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) driver. NEMT driver has extensive training and experience when it comes to handle and transport patients in critical conditions going to their doctor's appointments, hospital ER or discharges from nursing facilities or Rehab Senior Centers. When transporting a passenger in a wheelchair, requires the driver to be able to secure the patient's wheelchair to the non-emergency ambulance and safely secure the passenger to avoid any fall while in transit to a destination. When transporting patients that can walk, driver has to make sure that the passenger safety belts are in place and working properly. When a passenger requires a gurney transportation, share-ride services will not work, as they are not equipped with the securement for the passenger to be transported.
